The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Queensland, Australia, have documented one such heart-warming return of a rescued turtle named Summer.
More wonderful still is the fact that her release a horde of school children and their parents stood as witness to the release; cheering and clapping. If anything’s going to send a turtle packing, it’s probably this.
Summer was previously found at the Port of Townsville with two fishing hooks lodged in her mouth. Her release comes after several months of recuperation under the watchful eye of staff. Read more…
